6. Get the documents

The Documents tab holds everything this case has on paper, from both directions: what the company's official registers will sell, and what you brought yourself.

What the registers hold

Listing the catalogue is free and happens on its own, so a case shows what it could produce before anything is asked for.

The register document catalogue grouped by category, each row with the document name, its date and its price

Grouped by kind (trade register extracts, articles of association, financial statements, official publications) with a price on every row.

Each document is paid for one at a time, and the price is on the row before you press Order. This is deliberately separate from the ownership budget: that figure bounds a walk that runs unattended, while every document here is a person reading a price and deciding.

What you are buying, and what it costs, before it is bought.

A delivered document is copied into your own storage the moment it arrives, so Download keeps working long after the register's own link has expired.

A filing sometimes arrives as two files

An Italian Bilancio, for example, comes as a machine-readable archive plus a PDF rendering of the same accounts. Both are kept. The PDF is what Download gives you and what the extractor can read; the filed original is reachable from the same row and is the only machine-readable copy of those figures.

Uploading your own

Drag a file into the upload area, or press to browse.

Anything you already hold: a visura somebody emailed you, an org chart, a certificate.

Give it a type. The type is not decoration. It is the key that decides which extraction schema reads it. An uploaded document with no type cannot be read, and the Extract tab will say so.

The document type select open on an uploaded file, showing register types and types added by hand

The register's own vocabulary, plus any type you added yourself. Only types with a schema behind them can be selected for a new upload.

If the type you need is not there, it is added when you write the schema for it. Changing a document's type afterwards is allowed and is recorded in the case's activity, with what it was before.

Next: Extract what they say.
